Harley's & Jack Daniels! God's gift to man!

Hi Folks,
As you know I have been suggesting a lot of items lately and I have another which I'll post seperately in a minute.

Of course Mark is THE MAN for doing everything in his power to add any requested item and that is fantastic!

However, I had a thought and wanted everyone to give an opinion via a poll.

Here's my idea ...

If Mark could setup a seperate forum just for suggestions.

When a suggestion is added the poster would create a simple "Yes"/"No" Poll at the same time.

When everyone comes into that forum they could click the link and look at the product then vote accordingly.

My thoughts are that ...

... this would keep suggestions organized making things easier to keep track of for Mark and us.
... the collective opinions of the forum readers is MUCH better than a single person. No one ever knows until they have bought something if it's junk but a group can probably decide better than an individual.
... IF a forum reader has the item and a feel for it they could give their feedback.
... IF a forum reader has the item Mark could buy it from them.
... IF license allows someone who already has the item could donate it to Mark and in turn all of us. WooHoo ... Karma Points!  Grin

Everyone who paticipates in this forum has a "perspective" and the collective use of this resource (in my humble opinion) for deciding what is good (or not good) to add to the download area would be invaluable for the decision process.

I applaud Mark for how he handles this but wouldn't it be great for all of us to help him control cost? Collectively, we may avoid suggesting junk which would keep the downloads area lean and mean? I'm a big believer in quality vs. quantity is always best.

Please understand that to my knowledge there isn't any junk there now but have I gone through EVERYTHING ... no, I haven't. Didn't want anyone thinking I was suggesting there is a problem. I just feel this would be a nice way to handle this.

Oh, before I forget ... I think each poll should run for a week and time limited items would be handled individually. Also, Mark would retain the final word.

Of course I welcome any further suggestions and/or a reply telling my I'm full of crap and we don't need this.  Cheesy

Looking forward to your thoughts.

Not a bad idea.

All suggestions would at least be in the one place.

As you say though the last word is down to Mark.

Mike,

What a great proposal.

I'm still trying to digest it all...study it, etc.

Seems like it's worth a try at least.

Thank you for suggesting it.

OK..I'm the sad sack who voted 'no'

My main reason :- The person who makes/made the suggestion believes that the item in question would help with their requirements and, if it helps with someone else's requirements then all to the better. But if that particular suggestion had been voted 'no' by people to whom it had no meaning then the suggester loses out - particularly if the voting results were shown at the top of the suggestion (I think that made sense  Huh?)

2nd Reason :- Making the suggestion allows Mark to contact the supplier and possibly get better terms (i.e. MRR instead of RR ) thus increasing the saleability for all concerned - if it was voted out then no further contact would be initiated.

That's my 2 zlotys worth

Hi Guys,

So, basically you guys would like to have a new category called "Product Requests/Suggestions"? And then whenever a new product is requested, a poll would be added for ya'll to vote?

Am I understanding that correctly? If not, just wack me one!  Cheesy

Hey Mark,

I think a new category called "Product Requests/Suggestions would be good, at least they would all be in one place.

However I agree with valups and don't think we need a poll.

My main reason :- The person who makes/made the suggestion believes that the item in question would help with their requirements and, if it helps with someone else's requirements then all to the better. Hi Everyone,
Sorry I haven't been around for a few days. We got a new puppy and I'm suffering from sleep deprivation!  Drunk

You had it right Mark. I guess a poll could be up to the requestor. I just thought it would be a nice option for the reasons originally stated.

Thanks for doing it!

Hi Frank,
I do believe you're right but not needed. I have a system that works everytime but it does take diligence and consistancy. The pup is 9 weeks today and other than him having the physical ability (or lack of lol) to hold it all night he is done.

At this point if we're around he'll ask to go out and if we don't notice he'll use the paper. At night he will cry until we wake up ... IF we don't wake up he uses the paper in his kennel.

Can't ask for better than that at his age.  :-)

Mike,

Now that's a pup I'd like to see...a "talking" one!  (Bolding mine)

Congratulations that you've got him about trained. I imagine he likes it a lot better, too; rather than sitting or sleeping on wet paper in his kennel.

I love puppies..and kitties, too.

Hi gang,
It has been awhile since I have been on the forum, but I wanted to share my 2 cents.

I still remember when I was relatively new I recommended to Mark that he have a product search. Within Days... it was done. It has been a valuable aid to many!

My point is Mark is terrific about listening to ideas individually, and if they make sense, making the products available to us. And quickly! I love seeing "as requested by a Gold member" etc...

Just send him your idea. No poll necessary!

Thanks Mark for continuing to KICK @#$!
