Are you using Internet Explorer?... When you click for the download does it take you to a page called Source Forge?... If you click the link to download and it does not start to download, then check if there is a browser security bar across the top of your page??.. If so click that for the download options... Ted.

Hey Ted,

IE was the ticket.  I had been trying to use FF and getting nowhere.  The download in IE went without a hitch.

I'll give it a good trial run but with the holidays it may be next year before I can do it justice.

Well, here's the problem . . . the download of Audacity was successful as was the Lame mp3 encoder.  The problem is that they will not connect.

Everything goes well in the connection process until the very last step.  It says to click 'open' twice and Audacity should be hooked up with Lame and the menu screen will disappear on its own.

Unfortunately, the menu screen disappears after the first click on 'open'.  This apparently aborts the process.  The Lame encoder does not appear in the drop-down.  But I do appear to be lame.

You could just use them as 2 separate programs.

Create the audio in Audacity and save as whatever it saves as (.wav I think) and then use Lame to 'mp3' it

Not as good as automation but it could work
