I'll start the new week with 3 more outstanding quotes. ;)

"I am only one; but still I am one. I cannot do everything, but still I can do something. I will not refuse to do the something I can do."
                                                -- Helen Keller

"If you really want something you can figure out how to make it happen."
                                                -- Cher

"A year from now you may wish you had started today."
                                                -- Karen Lamb

Hi fellow members.

This post is not totally off-topic but I think it fits here ok.

When we are feeling down (don't we all at sometime or another!), I personally find that reading great thought provoking quotes, a good method of raising myself up again.

With this in mind I shall share 3 of my favorites today.

Quote 1

"Great spirits have always encountered violent opposition from mediocre minds."

Albert Einstein

Quote 2

"That some achieve great success, is proof to all that others can achieve it as well."

Abraham Lincoln

Quote 3

"He who is not courageous enough to take risks will accomplish nothing in life."

Muhammad Ali

Anybody ready to share some of their favorites?

Perhaps if there are enough quotes I can compile a pdf for sharing.

Best

Jim

Thank you very much for the perfect post.
I can share with everyone by my favourite quote:
"The golden opportunity you are seeking is in yourself. It is not in your environment; it is not in luck of chance, or the help of others; it is in yourself alone".
Orison Swett Marden

Three more quotes to start the week.

(Due to technical difficulties  ;;:B , this week's quotes are a little late, apologies for this.)

I do not know the origins of these quotes but sincere thanks to somebody, maybe anon. ;)

Here goes:

You get the best out of others when you give the best of yourself.

A successful person is one who can lay a firm foundation with the bricks that others throw at him.

Empty your mind and the right answer will come.

Best regards

Jim

I just would like to share an inspirational quote from Henry David Thoreau.

'If you have built castles in the air, your work need not be lost; that is where they should be.
Now put foundations under them.'

This is a little different. It is especially for you Americans on the forum.

I received this from the Phillip Humbert newsletter.

Enjoy.

Humor:

Windows, Texas Edition

Paul Vogt, a fellow Oregonian who sends me lots of chuckles, sent this a while back and I think it's very well-done. Whoever has the talent (and time) to come up with this, I certainly honor your wit and humor! Thank you!
++++++++++

It has come to our attention that a few copies of the WINDOWS TEXAS EDITION may have been shipped outside of Texas. If you have one of these, you will need help understanding the commands. The TEXAS EDITION can be recognized by the unique opening screen that says, "WINDERS," with a background picture of Willie Nelson over a bottle of Jack Daniels.

Please also note:

The Recycle Bin is labeled "Outhouse"
My Computer is called "This Dern Contraption"
Your Internet connection is called "Good Ol' Boys"
Control Panel is known as "The Dashboard"
Hard Drive is referred to as "4-Wheel Drive"
Floppies are "Them little bitty plastic thangs"
Instead of an error message, "Duct Tape" pops up

CHANGES IN TERMINOLOGY IN TEXAS  EDITION:
Cancel............stopdat
Reset.............try'er agin
Yes...............yep
No................nope
Find..............hunt fer it
Go to.............over yonder
Back..............back yonder
Help..............hep me out here
Stop..............kwitit (WHOA!)
Start.............crank'er up
Settings..........settins
Programs......... stuff at duz stuff
Documents....... .stuff ah done did

We regret any inconvenience this may have caused. If you received a copy of the TEXAS EDITION, you may return it to Microsoft for a replacement version.

I hope this helps all y'all!

Hi Guys and Gals ::P

Three more inspiring quotes to get a new week off to a good start. 8)

There are two ways to live your life.
One is as though nothing is a miracle.
The other is as though everything is a miracle.

     Albert Einstein

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things
that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines.
Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails.
Explore. Dream. Discover.

     Mark Twain

No person was ever honored for what he received. Honor has been the reward for what he gave.
     Calvin Coolidge

Have a great week everybody

Jim

ps Sorry about the color selection. :o
