Hey thanks you guys I hope I can do you proud.

I am going to sleep on this before I buy the domain name

After doing some research I have decided to target my own home town
Hartlepool.

The business I am going to hit is the takeaway business,
now I order a takeaway about once every two weeks for the family so I am a user.

First thing I do when I want to find a keyword is think what I would enter into the search engine
and my first thought was “Hartlepool Takeaways” so I did a check with Google keyword tool
it came up ok with a few searches per month but the keyword tool also gives other phrases
and the one that had the most searches was “takeaways in Hartlepool”

So that is going to be my main keyword phrase “takeaways in Hartlepool”
Here is a screen shot of my keyword research.

As you can see there is not really that many searches but you must remember that this is
going LOCAL and not WORLDWIDE so if you do this then do not let the low numbers put you off.

Next I looked at the competition here is a screen shot and the text tells the rest.

So I will sleep on it and my next update should be on getting the domain.

Thanks for watching

Brian

Good day all!

It is a bright sunny Sunday morning here in the U.K.

Update.

I gave myself time to think about it and I have decided to go with my own town “Hartlepool”
and to target the local “takeaway” businesses.
The main key phrase I am going to use is “takeaways in Hartlepool”

So I went ahead to see if I could get the domain name.
I always use Namescheap to buy a domain because they are fast and without fuss.
For newbies here is a screen shot

The domain name takeawaysinhartlepool cost me £4.15 ($6.58)
This is the first (and last I hope) expense of this project.

I already have a hosting account with Hostgater so I just added the new domain and installed the basic blog

Now I am good to go.
Today I will design a header using xheader and install all the plugins I need (details of them later)

Any Questions please ask.
Catch you on the next update (today!)

Have a great day
Brian

P.S interesting … from buying the domain and hosting it then installing the blog online live! Took only 15 minutes!

Well I did myself a header using xheader not sure if I am happy with it yet.

Gave the blog a background (to make people hungry ha!)

The theme I am using is Flexibility because I like working with that.

Installed my favourite plugins

Google XML sitemaps
and
Vibe SEO pack

Here is a screen shot of the blog

Might change the look later but for now it is time to add some content and images!

I'm feeling hungry already Brian,

Looks good.

I couldn't resist doing a search for take aways in Hartlepool and thought "the Almighty Cod" was a classic name!

I've often thought about having an Indian Take Away in Dublin called "Bombay Mick's"!

Cheers

John

Bank Holiday Monday here in the U.K and here I am working!

Today I have added some content, I found it by searching online, reading menus and altering it a bit to make it unique.
Then I have added some images, I changed the background because the site was looking a bit too colourful.
I am using the Vibe SEO plug in and according to that I have everything right.

Of course there is still a lot to do on the site, but I can now start getting some backlinks
and push the site onto page one of Google search results for the phrase “takeaways in Hartlepool”

Have a great day everyone.

P.S John I might give the “Almighty Cod” a visit today!

Nice one Brian, think you could do that again on video and you'll have another product. What do you think folks, and get it up onto the members area.

Well done mate.

Very impressive, well done!

Love the video too.

I'm sure the Almighty Cod would love to be on page 1.

Cheers
