How to add your own autoresponder information?
« on: October 07, 2008, 06:46:31 PM »
I finally figured out how to upload a site to my server, I am now editing the index file and I am wondering how to edit the nice looking sign up box and add my own information ~ while still keeping their pretty box.

I have get response for my autoresponder, just wondering how I change it so they will actually be able to sign up for the list.

Thanks,

Jackie

Hi Jackie

It is not always that simple to insert getresponse code into an optin page.

My advice would be to make some copies of your page and just experiment.

If you need any further help just post again.

Best

Hi Jackie,
Jim is dead on ... that is the easist way to learn and having a backup you'll be able to go back in the process should something go wrong.

To add to it I suggest you make incremental saves of the file as you work. This is what I do so, should something go wrong, I don't have to start over completely.

Always make backups to make you changes on. As a designer you should be able to change the text in the box only through the code, but keep in mind some will not allow the change in their code. You have to really know what you are doing and make sure that you test it. I would most likely make a copy with another name on your server, make the changes and then test it that way.
