Image Hosting with HotLinks
« on: December 26, 2017, 01:35:28 PM »
Hello, fellow members---

Since Photobucket changed from a free site to $399 a year, I've been looking for a way to host and hotlink images.

I use Google Drive for images and couldn't figure out how to hotlink those images for use on websites, ads, etc. Then I discovered this YouTube video instructing exactly how to to do. Tried it this AM and worked like a charm. Here's the video link -

Would also love to hear your ideas on this. Cheers! - MM

No, but now I'll take a very close look at it. Thanks!

I've always hosting images on my own hosting, Never thought about anything different.

For product zip files and videos I use AWS. So much cheaper than upgrading hosting space.

Hotmail has one drive, though I have not used it for any of my sites.

Ron, those are good thoughts. Thank you.

For now, I've figured out how to host the images on my Google Drive. Keeps everything in one place. Don't have any big files to host yet...so I'll keep your suggestions in mind when I do.

Thanks for your contribution! - MM

Though I have thought about a CDN service, but doesn't seem necessary. Speed tests don't show it as a problem.
