Donald Thanks Donald If I get to the stage of sharing my own quotes it would be time for me to call it a day. My thoughts do not always appear on paper the way I usually want them to appear. Much easier and more entertaining for me to research other peoples quotes! Jim

A father is a guy who has snapshots in his wallet where his money used to be.
Unknown
My father didn't tell me how to live; he lived, and let me watch him do it.

Hi Folks
I've gathered some quotes regarding Independence Day.
I hope everybody from wherever will enjoy them.
Freedom has its life in the hearts, the actions, the spirit of men and so it must be daily earned and refreshed, else like a flower cut from its life giving roots, it will either wither or die.
Dwight D Eisenhower.
We on this continent should never forget that men first crossed the Atlantic not to find soil for their ploughs but to secure liberty for their souls.
Robert J. McCracken
Thy spirit, Independence, let me share! Lord of the lion-heart and eagle-eye, Thy steps I follow with my bosom bare, Nor heed the storm that howls along the sky.
Tobas George Smollet
Have a great week everyone.

Hi folks
Three quotes to hopefully get your week off to a great start.
Are you in earnest? Seize this very minute! Boldness has genius, power, and magic in it. Only engage, and then the mind grows heated. Begin, and then the work will be completed.
Jean Anouilh
Show me a person who has never made a mistake and I'll show you somebody who has never achieved much.
Joan Collins
Originality is the fine art of remembering what you hear but forgetting where you heard it.
Laurence J. Peter
Hope you have enjoyed these different from usual quotes.
God Bless
Jim
ps The soccer World Cup ends today with the final involving Spain and Holland.
Here is hoping it is a fantastic showpiece event.

Good quotes as usual Jim. I like the Joan Collins quote. Very true. As for the WC, last day. I am opting for the Dutch but have a wee soft spot for the Spanish for some reason. I think the 2 teams have probably bee the 2 best at this tournament I think. Saying that last nights game was terrific, good open football, probably nothing to paly for really. One commentator said on TV, it's probably the only game no one wants to play in, having missed out on the final.
I enjoyed the British Grand Prix, first one I have watched in a while. been a bad summer for Britsih sport, WC, Wimbledon and Grand Prix, no winners.
Jim, I am looking forward to the new season and the 2012 qualifiers. Could you give me a link for your football site. I think I have bookmarked it but just in case.

Hi Jim,
Thanks for that. I look forward to it. As for the great summer, been raining here for the last week, more or less non stop. Saying that lovely today, first lot of washing out on the line. In the shed on the machine. Will be able to see if the heavens open up. We're supposed to have nice weather coming but when....that's the answer.

Hi folks Sorry for the slight delay in this week's offering. Here we go..... btw I love the first quote. The truth will set you free. But first it will pi** you off. Gloria Steinem The average, healthy, well-adjusted adult gets up at seven-thirty in the morning feeling just plain terrible. Jean Kerr My only true harmony lies deep within my soul, wherever that is. I know that somehow I am in tune with the universe. Mercedes McCambridge Have a great week Jim

And without further ado we are into this week's quotes. There is no chance, no destiny, no fate that can circumvent or hinder or control the firm resolve of a determined soul. Ella Wheeler Wilcox Great minds discuss ideas. Average minds discuss events. Small minds discuss people. (Any thoughts on this one?) Eleanor Roosevelt For fast-acting relief - try slowing down. A little truth to that one, I'd say. Here's one that I like. I find that it applies to folks that are thinking of starting their own business, whether it be online or offline. Interesting quote. This quote puts an whole new slant on my thoughts that anything built should have a solid foundation first. Jim
