Hospital For me!
« on: October 08, 2015, 05:26:00 AM »
Hi,

As I said in a previous post I haven't been around for some time, been doodling about trying different things and buying to many products, good ones I might add.

Anyway, on Wed 14th I'm going into Glasgow Royal Infirmary for an op, cyst on my ankle. Initially told it would be keyhole, but no. They have to make an incision, break my ankle, move it out of the way, get rid of the cyst. They then make another incision round the knee area scrape some bone away and replace where the cyst was. Off work for a max 12 weeks, good and bad. hopefully have plenty of time to do something online.

In between the pain :-\ (have a bad pain threshold....lol.)I'll be in here quite often to catch up.

Regards

Donald

Ouch!  May you have a speedy recovery!   I broke my ankle in college and they put 3 screws in!  At least I got some good drugs!

Wow, that sounds painful Donald! I hope the procedure goes well and the recovery quick!

Ohhhhhh Donald,

Well, I thought my wife's 2 knee replacement surgeries were bad. Your operation doesn't sound like a fun time at all. You'll be in my thoughts and prayers.

I'll also mention in my words to the Lord the necessity of regular pain relief. My last time in the hospital, I was in there on an emergency basis for 2 weeks. Just about the entire time on a morphine drip. So it was OK - not that I remember much.

You may have read that the state of Colorado has legalized marijuana (still in violation of federal statues, I might add). So here, if the doc doesn't provide the proper relief, there's always the option to be high as a kite and floating on a mary jane cloud. Wish I could ship you some.

Be strong and well, my friend. Looking forward to hearing from you. - Magicman

Thanks MM, Hoping the pain killers will help, only time will tell. Nearly there. Don't know if high as a kite is feasible,  or maybe just a few drams to dull the pain...lol.

Thanks Doc and Al, That's surgery done and now at home to recover. Admitted Wednesday morning, surgery at approx. 1300. Out yesterday afternoon. Thanks for the messages of support. Got good pain relief,Tramadol. Pain is bearable. Could be off work for a max of 12 weeks, no pay, only statutory sick pay from the government which is a pittance. Anyway, had put some money aside, cashed in a pension so should not be a problem.

Regards

Donald

Hi Donald.

Glad to hear that you are safe and sound. Not so good that you are not getting paid leave though. But it does look like you will have extra time to build your online business while you are healing. :)

Wishing you a speedy recovery.

Al
