I've followed it a bit but still know very little about it. I kind of think it would be better if Scotland stayed as part of the UK. But what do I know? The colonies on this side of the pond broke away and it seemed to work out ok. I'll have to look up the issues.

Hi Donald,

It is a strange system that lets Scots around the world vote but does not allow Scots living in England to vote.

This little quote sums up my thoughts.

I know absolutely nothing about this topic except the question so there's not much I can say without reading at least some basic things, but still, independence is quite a big deal and I wish them all the best!

My Scots half shouts 'Freedom!' in a Braveheart sort of way.  My English half says they don't stand a chance if they break away and it'll hurt both of us seriously.

It's my understanding that it's only people living in Scotland that can vote.

It's a tough one to call Dom. I've been swayed by both sides. Initially I was a NO voter. Things change, you listen to both sides. I'm still undecided although I am swayed to one side. Big day tomorrow.

FYI - The Elite control system could crack after the devolution.

"The LOVE of money is the root of all evil"

This YES vote could lead to many other countries wanting TRUE democracy & freedom, "not the same old system"rampant bullying & dirty illegal activities that escape the rule of law.  Read what its about...

Why the control?
Energy Theft - as usual.
Just like Iraq, Syria, Libya, etc (Soon to be Iran, Russia)

Dont listen to me  but General Wesley Clark...
Watch this & weep.  700,000 + men, women, children dead so far.

UK/USA leaders need to repent and come clean or we are ALL going to reap what they sow.

Hi Donald,

Looks like I read the rules wrong.  8)shh 8)shh 8)shh

Below is the list of people who can vote in the referendum from the official website.

____________________________________________ _______________________________________
People who can vote in Scottish Parliamentary and local government elections will be able to vote in the referendum.

The following groups are entitled to be on the electoral register for the referendum:

    British citizens resident in Scotland.
Commonwealth citizens resident in Scotland who have leave to remain in the UK or do not require such leave.
Citizens of the Republic of Ireland and other EU countries resident in Scotland.
Members of the House of Lords resident in Scotland.
Service personnel serving in the UK or overseas with the armed forces who are registered to vote in Scotland.
Crown personnel serving outside the UK with HM Government who are registered to vote in Scotland.

The key difference from normal voting arrangements is that the minimum age for voting in the referendum will be 16 instead of 18. This means that people who will be 16 years old by 18 September 2014, and are otherwise eligible, can register to vote.

THANKS Jim...

I am a sinner and I freely admit it to all BUT I am asking Jesus for forgivness & steering my ship daily...its the only way I know I can survive in this crazy world. So many people are controlled by fear and the current propaganda agenda for wars is sickening & an abomination to the Lord.

For instance, Did you know the recent beheading vids are fake?
Dont believe me - read what the Times & Telegraph have bravely said...

Maybe thats why Youtube has been deleting any proof and the UK police warned that anybody watching them would be arrested...except there is no law broken in doing so....

Hi Guys,

Any word on the outcome? What time will the polls close?

Not long to go now. Currently 10pm GMT. Yes Jim, early morning should know the results, according to TV we'll know the outcome just after 0600. Anyway, the World waits and whatever the result life as we know it has changed forever. Some people over here are worried how it's going to affect people. Hopefully it won't.

Regards

As Donald predicted, just after 6am the result was announced.

Scotland to remain in the UK.

A turnout of 86% of the electorate, which is quite remarkable in these days.
