Wordpress Security
« on: May 20, 2014, 03:32:26 PM »
::P I just had to share this with RRW community.  For those of you using wordpress security can be a major issue. 1 of my clients site gets hacked constantly and I am always looking for a way to lock those users out that would hack the site to pieces. Anyway here is the link to the best security software plugin I have ever used https://wordpress.org/plugins/all-in-one-wp-security-and-firewall/  It stopped over a dozen brute force signins within 24 hours after I installed & configured it. I hope that it helps others that may be having problems with hackers.

You might want to scan your websites to see if you have hidden bad script already installed check out these links

http://app.webinspector.com/

These links allow you to check any website to see if the site is clean. Then if you use wordpress you can safely install the security plugin and feel a bit more secure. At least for a while.  Sure hope this helps and if you have found any security scan sites or wordpress plugins that help secure your site please share.  ;C

Have a wonderful day.

I've been using a paid plugin called Secure Scan Pro for over a year. In addition to many other great features, it has a blunt force attack lockout feature. The perpetrators get 5 times to try a password, then they are banned from the site for at least two weeks automatically.

BTW, please don't use "admin" as your login. I also suggest you that whatever you do use as a login not be used as your admin name on the site or on your posts. Create a USER name with contributor rights only to create your posts. That way your username will be almost impossible to find by cruising the site. BTW, I've made all these mistakes...but you don't have to. -MM
