DR Congo isnt in West Africa its in Central Africa and currently has  71 cases 43 deaths(60% mortality rate).   Something that concerns me is the cases of the disease in countries not connect to each other by land.  Nigeria is not directly connected to the other West African countries where the disease is being found, the same with DR Congo(which is 2000km from Nigeria). Water is the only thing that directly connects them and that is a whole lot harder to control.  I know from personal experience.

Yes, I'm in France, but it doesn't matter where I am.

I don't protest because of people trying to inform others. I complain because "marketers" use words that scare people (again, these words are : emergency, danger, pandemic, survival, etc.) in order to make them buy their stuff. They lie or they don't know the subject.

Excuse me, but with 1 case in the USA, 1 case in Spain, cases in few West African countries, and no case elsewhere, it's not a pandemic, and there's no emergency at all, apart in Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone.

About the media. I don't know what they say in your country, but in France they don't scare people.

Hi Bart -

I'm glad you're here in this forum to add another fine flavor to our discussions. I'm also very happy to have a French connection. Our countries are quite connected...there wouldn't even be a US without the aid of France. Thanks for your country's support in the world community and for France's friendship.

I don't like to scare people either. The prepper and "virus" info-products to seem to serve a real need.

Again, I appreciate you and your point of view. Thanks for contributing. - Magicman

Hey Guys,

Did they ever figure out how that Texas nurse contracted Ebola?

Great discussion going on here. Everyone's input def has some merit.
Just per the request initially made, is this still going to be added or not?

Bart,
What you may not know is that our President actually canceled his travel plans and rearranged his schedule to concentrate on ebola ...

...that may not sound like an emergency to YOU...but it sure does make me curious...

I have worked as a healthcare professional, doing direct patient care; one of my degrees is in Microbiology...and over many years I've watched various disease scares (in fact, I read the article in, I think it was, New England Journal of Medicine, about the bird flu LONG before it appeared on the public consciousness...and just reading that article made me very concerned...thank goodness it wasn't as bad as it could have been...)

If we are so well-prepared for ebola here in the U.S. ... why did they fly the affected nurses to other facilities? (Sounds like one of them lost a lot of their personal belongings when they sanitized her apartment.)

(I get more concerned about people who write scary headlines about using fantastico to install WordPress -- which,  incidentally, isn't nearly as true as it used to be. Oh, I should mention one of the services I provide is cleaning up hacked websites. I'm a bit of a unix geek. A hacked website is no fun...but given a choice between a hacked website and ebola, I'll take the hacked website, every time.)

I have a lot of questions about ebola, to be honest...and picking up Barb's for the cost of an email doesn't seem extreme.

I'm just getting to know Tiff (and also have her lifetime PLR), but I've known Barb quite well for a few years now.  She writes good. solid, original and workable stuff...

I have been known to help her out with copy (consulting) from time to time, although not on this particular offer...but to be honest...unless she's changed the copy since you posted...the copy doesn't seem very alarmist to me at all...

Live JoyFully!

Judy

P.S. And Jerome is right -- what he said about the flu. Yes, more people die of flu. But that's a relative number.  What is not relative is the lethality of ebola...anywhere from 50-90%, in what is, by all accounts, an ugly death.
