Product Request Format *UPDATED 2/28/11*
« on: June 11, 2009, 03:05:48 AM »
Hi Folks

It makes a lot of sense (IMHO) to open a new topic for each request.

The product name would be the subject line.

This would make it easier to note which products have been requested.

Let us know if you think this can be improved.

Jim

Mark

Probably could do with this post made into a sticky, to keep the information at the top of the thread.

I agree Jim,

Good suggestion, when used product's name as topic's name it will get quick note in the forum
and is easily searchable later on as well as easy to find..

Best regards!

Aatos

Oh, I like your suggestion, Jim. Good idea for each product to have its own thread.

Thank you.

Hi Guys,

Having the product name as the subject line sounds good to me.

In your request post, be sure to list the product name & web link (if you have it). As long as the product license permits, I will be sure to add that product to the members area.

Thanks,
Mark

Great Idea! If I could also add that it would be great for the poster to do as much research as possible on the rights. No since in Mark chasing his tail if we can say what rights are included.

Hi Guys

IMHO this is an excellent way to post a request (never mind that I'm patting myself on the back).

It saves Mark a lot of time - He's a busy guy doing all that he does for us :)

Product Request Format *Update*

Hi Guys,

Here recently I've had several members ask about the RRW product request guidelines. They want to know what can and can't be added to the RRW membership. So I'm going to try to explain the process here.

First, I would like to point out that RRW is your membership. Your comments, complaints, questions, and suggestions are ALWAYS welcome. I may not always agree with you, but I still want to hear what you have to say.  Yes, this is a business but more importantly we're a community and as such I truly value your input. Remember, this is your community & your membership!

My policy regarding products requests for the RRW membership is pretty simply:

"You want it? Then I'll get it!" (license permitting).   However, there are several factors that have to be considered regarding requests. What are the rights? Does the offer include resell rights, master resell rights, or private label rights? Does the offer allow the product to be added to a membership?

When a member makes a product request, the first thing I look at is the offer's product license. I'll look to see what rights I can pass on to you guys. If the license says something like "For Your Personal Use Only" then there's no need for me to purchase that requested product because I will not be able to legally add that to the membership.

My goal is pretty simple - I want to pass on the best rights possible to you. And from time to time I am able to negotiate with product creators for better rights to pass on to you.  But if a product license says that it's for personal use only then I will not be adding it to the membership.

There's several reasons for that - first of all I have to consider the legal ramifications of the matter. If I improperly add a product to the membership then I am legally & financially responsible for damages to the product creator. I also have a responsibility to protect you from legal issues.  It's up to me to do my due diligence to make sure that you can legally sell those products.

Secondly, I plan on being here a long time so I have to consider my reputation. I work with product creators on a daily basis to provide you guys with quality products. Obviously, it's essential that I maintain a good relationship with them.  My reputation with you is also critical - what good is the RRW membership if you can't trust the legality of the products within the membership? So if a product's license says "personal use only" then I will not be adding it to the membership.

Now sometimes a product will come with a "non-transferable" resell rights or private label rights license. Usually these licenses will allow the purchaser to sell the product but their customers have personal use rights only. Here's an example of a recent product request with such a license:

Private Label Rights Terms & Conditions
[YES] Can be edited.
[YES] Can be sold with personal use only
[YES] Can be added into PAID membership sites with personal use only.

[YES] Can be offered as a bonus to a paid product.
[NO] Cannot sell resell rights to package.
[NO] Cannot sell master resell rights to package.
[NO] Cannot sell private label rights to this package.

[NO] Cannot distribute or sell the source files for any element in this package.
[NO] Cannot be given away for free (any format).
[NO] Cannot be added into free membership sites.

So if I purchased a product offer with a license such as that then I would be able to include it in the membership with personal use rights only. There's been a number of product request's lately with licenses similar to the example above - and I'm happy to add them to the membership as normally these products provide good information.

Unfortunately, there's been several product requests recently that I've had to turn down. Like I said above, I'm happy to add personal use products to the membership providing that they offer good information or training material for members. However, there is one limiting factor - the products need to be marketing related. It doesn't necessarily have to be about internet marketing - but it does need to be marketing related. If someone requests a "Rabbit Hunting" ebook that has personal use only rights, what's the point of that being added to the RRW membership?

Now remember, we're just talking about personal use products - this does not apply to all requests - just requests where only personal use rights only can be passed on.

I hope all that rambling makes sense! :-)

Thanks,
Mark

ps. I've had several members ask about a Personal Use license. "Personal Use Only" basically means that you can read the product (ebook), view it (video), listen to it (audio), or use it (script/software) but you cannot sell it nor give it away.  If you have any questions just let me know.

Excellent site, keep up the good work. I read a lot of forums on a daily basis and for the most part, people lack substance but, I just wanted to make a quick comment to say I’m glad I found your forum. Thanks

Having the product name as the thread title makes sense but what if you dont know the name to give the product.? Ok, see these; I need a marketplace like clickbank & a script with video upload form that the uploaded videos can be watched online or downloaded via your site. crap! I dont know which name to give those products.
