Thanks for the "late birthday wishes", Jim (et al).
Mostly okay. Although I got "a bit stupid" during our last March snowstorm (13th) of the year - 6-8 inches of snow. Smart enough not to drive in it; not so when it comes to walking. Thus, down I went, broke my right wrist (first break ever in my life) - still had to walk home! Had surgery March 16th, with a plate and screws inserted.
Splint, removable brace, hand therapy later and almost released from doctor. Still am not to lift more than one pound, and when I walk extensively - especially on uneven ground - I am to wear the brace. See doctor June 8, and hope that takes care of it. (Can't fix stupid, though! )
Ironic thing was, I have boots designed to wear when walking on ice. But I didn't wear them that day because the snow was too deep and the boots are just about at ankle height.
I realize how fortunate I was because I could have broken a hip or leg. I also could move my fingers the whole time and I did not have any pain.
