Thanks, Mike.

PM answered.
And, yeah, where has the time gone over the last 5 years! :)

Just installed a new wordpress blog at www.edgarallenmarketing.com. BUT - it's not showing up on the web. When I put in edgarallenmarketing.com/wp/  - it does.

You could reinstall as John suggested above, or keep the files in your /wp directory and just set it up to respond for the main domain name w/o the wp part as well:
  • copy the index.php file from the wp directory to the directory above it where the whole site lives
  • edit it to point to the /wp directory, (change '/wp-blog-header.php' to '/wp/wp-blog-header.php' near the end)
  • update your "Site Address" under Settings -> General to point to the main domain
  • Go to Settings -> Permalinks, choose something beside default (postname is nice), then "Save Changes"

I do this on purpose when I set up a WP site so all the WP junk lives in a single folder and doesn't clutter up the root of the domain. There are some other, more complex, ways to split files out that I've been playing with, but you don't need anything more than the above.

 As someone who has this plugin (not plr) I have to say that this is an AMAZING
plugin and Derrick has done a SUPER job with it.

Hi Joe.
I appreciate you sharing your experiences.
If there are any suggestions for improvements to be made to the plugin, let me know.

I saw a few things in the demo video that I'll be tweaking for my clients.
When I do, I'll talk with Mark about making those changes available to the rest of the RRW folks.

Thanks.

Hi Wayne,
Great product request.

Thanks, Jim.

I trust things are going well with you these days?

It's good to hear from you. How is everything?

Almost settled into this whole California life.
The lack of a "real" winter is slightly disturbing...the lizards are already out in the yard and flowers are blooming while the folks back in the Midwest are getting hit so hard by blizzard conditions they can't even drive to church!

Life has been spectacularly busy lately -- in the best possible ways.
Teaching is going well, working on buying a house in Napa Valley, and business is booming.
The best description is "stressed, but blessed"!

Hope all is well with you and my other RRW friends, Mark.

Hey Mark,

Saw this one and thought it would be a good addition:

Looks like you can pass along Developer Rights:

What Exactly Are My Rights?

To maintain the value of this high-quality product, we ask that you DO NOT give it away, sell it for less than it’s worth or sell any type of rights to others.

However, you can…

  • Sell personal use licenses
  • Sell developer licenses
  • Add it to a paid membership site
  • Bundle it with other products
  • Add it as a bonus for a paid product

Product Requests / Re: IMSC Rapid Mailer

Col,

What features of this mailer caught your attention?

There are several WP plugins that can act as autoresponders in a similar way. For example, MailPoet can send out emails and manage subscriptions right from WordPress. The nice thing is that you can use it indefinitely for free and if you want the support or additional features, you can pay the $99 out of existing profits.

The real challenge for any self-hosted mailer is deliverability. There are several solutions for that as well. Services like Mandrill let you get all the deliverability of MailChimp -- and, again, you can start out at the free tier and only pay once you're at a point that you really ought to be profitable anyway. (12,000 emails a month for free and $0.01 per additional 1,000 is a daily email to a 400 person list before you start paying anything!) There are other providers as well, so you can always tap into Amazon's SES or one of the other options.

If there are other features that you're looking for or that appealed to you about that mailer, there's a pretty good chance it exists in another WP plugin already...

FYI, unless Mark works out a special deal on this one, it isn't going to happen since even the developer rights specify we have to charge at least $97 for installing and configuring it. I have developer rights and it is working well for one of my clients who has been actively using it and I'm getting ready to use it myself.

Let me know if you want to hire out the install -- I'll include the quick reference/checklist for using WI that I'm putting together for my own use, and I have plenty of other plugins with developer rights I could include to build out most any business model I can think of building around webinars (whether that's a membership site or whatever).

Your RRW Membership / Re: Issues with new forum layout?
« on: January 13, 2014, 12:18:40 AM »
Mark, can we also get a link added to the header or footer to the members area where the downloads live?
I managed to remember what it was after a couple attempts, since it isn't linked from the forum anymore.

Thanks!

From the title, I wondered if it was Derek's beast.
Here is where he is selling PLR/RR to that and a bundle of other products.

Howdy Mark,

I could write up something on WP plugins/themes.
PM me with details on what you're looking for and I'll start outlining it.

Thanks.

Howdy,

Kevin Riley's doing a 6-week program and including resell rights.

Not sure if it can be included in the membership site, but looks interesting.

Thanks.

Well, there you go...I checked the product requests, as usual, before requesting it, but for whatever reason it didn't stand out that it was already in the membership!

Apparently, it had to come via email from another marketer for me to look at the sales page and pay it any attention!

Thanks, Mark, as always.

Product Requests / Re: Jimmy D. Brown: Membership-To-Go
« on: May 08, 2013, 09:52:06 PM »
not sure if Mark wants to spend $1300 for all 3 to give us personal rights to them

That is exactly why I hesitated to request #3, even though it could be useful info for the members here.
However, Mark just invested $297 for the member-to-go PLR, so it makes sense if he can talk to Jimmy about rolling that into the #2 special and getting the other products for the additional $100.

Independent of the above, there is the fact that Mark also owns PLR to many of the products that we get in the membership with whatever rights he can pass along. We don't know what all he does with them in other contexts!
(I've often marveled at the "side effects" of running a membership site like this. All the members scouting out the latest and "greatest" products that have some sort of rights attached is only one!)
