Off Topic Forum / Where is everyone... And where I have been!
« on: April 26, 2019, 08:45:29 PM »
Hi, everyone.  I was wondering where everyone is these days?  I know that this is and still is a great community.  I also know that everyone has been missing Mark and his leadership.  If you're still here, please let us know and send up a smoke signal to tell us what you've been doing.   :shocked2:

That being said, I'm just going to update what has been going on here on our home front.  Last year, I developed a foot infection that was very debilitating.  It took over 10 months to recover from it.  Two surgeries, three months of daily antibiotics infusions, and more.  Took its toll on my family and me.

Then my husband's cancer came back.  It is his second round with it in 18 months.  He had surgery and then started chemo again this past January.  Just two weeks ago, he had a bone marrow transplant. A week after that, he was back in the hospital for a week due to an infection.  We're back out now and continuing with the after transplant plans, just waiting to see if/when he recovers from all of this.

What I CAN say is that God has been good to us - all the time.  Our family and friends have supported us - both with prayers and financial support since my husband's company asked us to find our own insurance after his first round of cancer.  We are part of a Christian medical share group, but like any insurance, they don't cover the cancer again unless it's been 5 years since the first instance.

If you'd like to keep up with us and what's going on, please visit https://givesendgo.com/keithlingcancer

If anyone would like to stay in touch, please let me know.  Soli Deo Gloria!

I have just revitalized one of my sites that was dormant for a while.  It is called Christian Comedy Clips and I pull all kinds of clips from many different video sites.  The monetized videos still earn those people money, but are available for me to use on my site.

I'm running this contest.

CONTEST!!! Which book do you like best? LIKE this post AND comment below with either "Kids Love Georgia" or "Kids Love I-75" for your chance to WIN the book of your choice! One participant will win their book of choice and be announced on this post on Monday, February 19th! Ready, set, goooooo!!!

This is a contest to generate some more interest in my site and hopefully, people will share it with their friends.  It's for the homeschooling community in Georgia.  The two books I'm offering are on fun places for kids - one in Georgia, and one up I-75 corridor.

This should pass FB's parameters.

Thanks, Jerome, for the suggestion. I'm going to keep this one in the back of my mind - probably a little bit of overkill for what I need right now.

I found this post about running a simple contest on Facebook.  Maybe someone else will find it useful too.

I want to run a contest on one of my sites to generate more signups to my FB Group discussion page.  Any ideas would be appreciated.

I hear that about drive space, Jim!  I have two hard drives, one that houses other downloads that I've gotten AND RRW up to 2013.  The second hard drive is for 2014 to today.  :-)

I just downloaded these and started one up on my computer.  I was able to get to the setup screen without any issues.  I did not continue at that point since I didn't want to set one up totally yet.  At what point do you have the issue?

Edgar - I can also see http://justicewatchofamerica.com/

What that tells me is that your IP has been blocked to the server.  In order for YOU to see them, your IP needs to be whitelisted so that you will not be blocked again.  This often happens with numerous failed login attempts - if you have a lot of them, the server software will block you.

It definitely is something that will have to be corrected from a server standpoint.  BUT - Good news is that your sites are up and functioning.  :-)

Magicman - Is this one of your sites?  If so, I am having no problem getting to it right now.

If you are, it's possible that your IP is blocked on the server.  That is still something that Mark will have to handle.

What other websites can I check for you?
