Your RRW Membership / Some days are better than others ...
« on: February 25, 2017, 08:53:52 PM »
Hi Everyone,

As you know, your Resell-Rights-Weekly membership has been offline for the past day as we battled a very determined hacker.  But thankfully, the RRW site is back up! Rest assured, you are not in any danger because of this.

I'm sure you've heard that "Every cloud has a silver lining." I'm happy to announce that because of this negative experience I have joined forces with an amazing team of cyber security experts who have implemented additional security measures for RRW to ensure that this does not happen again.

Also, please note that due to the hacker we had to roll back the RRW website to a previous backup. What this means is that if you recently sent me an email, private message, or help desk ticket then unfortunately there is a very good chance it got zapped when we reverted to the previous backup. So if you have recently contacted me and I have not responded please resend your enquiry. I apologize for the inconvenience.

I'm sure you're probably wondering how did this happen? Well, we thought we had the hacker beat and the site cleaned but we missed a "backdoor" that he had left within the site. So yes, the same guy hit us twice. It's unfortunate and I apologize for any inconvenience that it may have caused you.

I'd also like to say that I am not going to go away. This membership is not going to go away. We're here to stay. Period.

Thanks,
Mark

Your RRW Membership / From the heart ...
« on: February 16, 2017, 12:07:04 AM »
Hi Guys & Gals,

I just received a very heart felt private message from a very special friend here in the forum. Basically the message was a good old fashioned butt kicking (in a nice way) for my forum absence over the last couple of months.

I'm not going to mention this persons name, but I just wanted to say publically that their message was right on target. And the butt kicking was very well deserved.

This person reminded me that I have friends here in the forum who not only care about me but also worry about me when I disappear. This person also reminded me that it is selfish of me to alarm others who may be thinking that I have died or something.

To all my friends here, I just want to say ... I am so sorry. I honestly never meant to hurt or alarm anyone. Even though we only know each other online, I think sometimes we forget how our lives intertwine with others. Please know that it's not that I did not want to share things with you guys or be more open ... I just didn't want to be a burden and dump my health issues on you guys.

Again, I apologize. The past 6 months or so have just been a 'perfect storm' ... probably the worst period of my life. But I promise that I won't 'check out' on you guys again.

Thanks,
Mark

Off Topic Forum / Common Ground

Hi Guys,

A friend sent this forward to me. The story is a little bit silly, but offers a solid truth ...

Enjoy!

Finding Common Ground

A father died & left 17 camels as to his 3 sons.  When the father passed away, his sons opened up the will.  The will of the father stated that the oldest son should get half of 17 camels, the middle son should be given 1/3rd of the 17 camels, and the youngest son should be given 1/9th of the 17 camels.

As it is not possible to divide 17 into half or 17 by 3 or 17 by 9, the sons started to fight with each other.  So, they decided to go to a wise man.

The wise man listened patiently about the will. The wise man, after giving this thought, brought one camel of his own & added the same to 17. That increased the total to 18 camels.  Now, he started reading the deceased father’s will ...

Half of 18 = 9.
So he gave 9 camels to the eldest son.

1/3rd of 18 = 6.
So he gave 6 camels to the middle son.

1/9th of 18 = 2.
So he gave 2 camels to the youngest son.

Now add this up:
9 + 6 + 2 = 17 & this leaves 1 camel, which the wise man took back.

MORAL OF THE STORY: The proper attitude for negotiation & problem solving is to find the 18th camel, i.e. common ground. Once a person is able to find the common ground, the issue can be resolved.

Not sure if you guys follow sports, but have you heard about Ingrid Williams, wife of NBA Oklahoma City Thunder assistant coach Monty Williams?  On February 10 of this year Ingrid died in a head-on car crash in Oklahoma City. She was struck by a vehicle that crossed lanes after losing control. The other driver also died as well as the dog that was riding in her lap at the time of impact.

Now, I put myself in Monty's shoes and I ask myself how I would handle this if it happened to my wife? I think I would be heartbroken (obviously) and I think I would be very angry. But I want you to watch how he handles this difficult time.  Very classy guy. Here's a video clip from his wife's memorial service.

Thanks,
Mark
