As a Vancouverite, I have to admit I have been watching avidly. When we had the Winter Olympics here last time, it was amazing to watch our city come together, really a wonderful experience! This time, I watched with admiration when the Canadian coach ran out and gave the Russian skier his extra ski, letting him complete the course, and when Calgary speed skater Gilmore Junio took one for the team, (by quitting for a better skater), who won silver after not qualifying, well that was pretty wonderful! I tell my kids, medals are great, but these acts of kindness and self sacrifice are the gold medals of life!
