Marketing Talk / Re: true confessions of an internet marketing failure
« on: January 04, 2014, 05:09:38 AM »
Failure? Um, no you're not!

I've never seen anyone more tenacious about getting up and trying again, time after time after time. There are a bunch of people here in this forum with the "Edison Factor" as I call it.

Maybe you just need to try something that better suits you & your personality???

I don't know about you, but I finally figured out the reason I wasn't going anywhere with IM is because secretly, I hated it! LOL

That may not be the case with you at all, but at least consider the possibility that something inside you is whispering, "in all honesty, this isn't for me". There are plenty of ways to have a business, both online and off.  :::tu

For my Dear Sweet Mama who fell asleep in death last night,
just 45 minutes after our last visit together...

SUPER WOMAN
© 2013 Karen Denning

JUST A FEW SHORT WINKS IS ALL SHE EVER GOT
WASN'T MUCH TIME FOR SLEEP 'TWEEN TWO WAITRESSIN' JOBS
SHE TOOK CARE OF GRAND KIDS WHILE HER KIDS RAN AROUND
DON'T KNOW HOW SHE DID IT BUT SHE HELD IT ALL DOWN
MY MAMA WAS A SUPER, SUPER, SUPER WOMAN
YEAH MAMA WAS A SUPER, SUPER, SUPER WOMAN

SHE'D LOOK AT ME WITH LOVE THROUGH THOSE GREEN EYES
NEVER SHED A TEAR BUT I KNEW SHE WAS CRYIN' INSIDE
WE'D WALK TO TOWN WITH THE BABIES IN A STROLLER
A BABY MYSELF BUT I TRIED TO ACT OLDER
TRIED TO BE LIKE THAT SUPER, SUPER, SUPER WOMAN
YEAH MAMA WAS A SUPER, SUPER, SUPER WOMAN

[CHORUS]
SUPER WOMAN
DESPAIR TRIED TO GET HER BUT SHE'D PRAY, PRAY, PRAY
SUPER WOMAN
DEVIL TRIED TO BREAK HER, SHE'D SAY NOT TODAY

I CLUNG TO HER LEFT HAND, GOD HE HELD HER RIGHT
HE LED HER THROUGH THE DARKNESS WITH HIS LOVIN' LIGHT
NOW SHE SLEEPS IN PEACE 'TILL SHE HEARS HER NAME CALLED OUT
I'LL SEE THOSE GREEN EYES AGAIN, YEAH, I HAVE NO DOUBT
I'M GONNA SEE THAT SUPER, SUPER, SUPER WOMAN
YEAH, GONNA SEE THAT SUPER, SUPER, SUPER WOMAN

[REPEAT CHORUS]

I think she would have liked it!

Hey friends!

Business is growing! Woo Hoo  ;C

Sorry I've been so scarce around but there's little time to eat & sleep. let alone
anything else when working & running a business both online and offline.

Hope y'all had a great Turkey Day & that things are going well for you.

Having recently moved to much more populous area I decided to dip my toe into the waters of tangible goods. The thought of dealing with sales tax, talking to people face-to-face (believe it or not I have a mammoth inferiority complex), etc. was frightening to say the least. But, like the saying goes: feel the fear & do it anyway.

The products I'm selling are a hit with neighbors and I hooked up with one of my yard sale customers who was looking for some stuff that's among what I offer to stock his booth at one of the local flea markets. Got me my first wholesale customer! ;C

I built myself an online store for retail sales which is fully stocked. I'm driving local traffic to it with local advertising. I feel that I have a solid business plan and plenty of ideas for marketing & growth. Plus, it's pretty fun!

Has Christmas lost its true purpose?

Well, since the original purpose of Christmas was to "convert" pagans (by adopting the pagan holiday of Saturnalia), maybe not. Read on...

Such as over commercialisation, drunkenness etc.

The original holiday was an 9-day celebration which began on December 17. Roman courts were closed to purposely allow lawlessness to reign and concluded with human sacrifice on the final day: December 25.

Drunkenness, sexual depravity, overindulgence of every kind, etc. were not only allowed, but encouraged.

Interesting beginnings to these so-called "Christian" holidays.

Look it up--your findings on the roots of traditional celebrations will amaze you. :-)

Which Karen? If you mean me, then I'm not sure I can be of much help in the copywriting department.

I can give it a shot but no guarantees.

...is there one master copy that gets updated or are they monthly ones to add on to an original download?

I had started one awhile back but it got messed up. I'll be happy to put another one together and update it monthly.

It'll take a few days to get it completed, but I'll send it to Mark as soon as it's finished.   :::tu

If you want to keep track of impressions & clicks, run campaigns, etc. there's this one:

http://www.adrotateplugin.com/

Free version does a lot but there is a pro version available if you want to schedule ads or show different ones according to Geo Location.

These are about the best & easiest to use.

PrimoThemes/WebSharks discontinued them but they were release under GPL licensing so I grabbed the files for the plugins I had installed on one of my sites.

Any size:

Great for groupings of 125 square banners:

Just list your banners you want to rotate with this between them:
