« on: November 24, 2008, 12:37:15 PM »
Hihi!

My list...

Filezilla FTP == BEST FTP Software!!! And it's FREE!!!

Crimson Editor == Edit HTML, PHP, CSS files

Photoshop or GIMP

Submit Eaze == Article & Directory Submitter, lazy to fill up forms all the time ;D

Open Office Word

BANS == If you want a niche store build under 1 hour, this is the ultimate tool!!!

ArticleMS == Article Site Manager, but very hard to use

Winzip

Adobe Reader

PrimoPDF == Generate PDF articles from Word, Spreadsheet, Powerpoint, images etc... for FREE!!!

And the list goes on and on...

Isn't that so true, Shadowdawn?...About "the list goes on".

In fact, I think the list will really be never-ending because there will always be something new that comes along.

You've provided a great list.  Thank you.  Some of these, I've used.  Some, I've never heard of.  ;D  Which is good because now I can check them out.

i agree with you. i think that they really do not care if the media and people will talk about them, because they can do anything they want that will make them happy and it is not just about publicity.

Also, I think that when the "media and people talk about them", the media and people in essence are validating that person's worth. Many, not all, actors that find themselves in situations like this have little or no self-worth. They have a need to constantly be built up. Thus, they seek whatever way they can to get attention. Unfortunately, they get it--but often for the wrong reasons.

In some instances, too, it's a matter of having had too much (maybe too soon) and not having had to be accountable for their actions.

Product/Service Reviews / Re: Can your articles be declined upon submission
« on: November 22, 2008, 01:51:01 PM »
So, Stew~

I don't see where there's been any response from you regarding your original question.  I'm wondering if you ever submitted an article to ezinearticles.

I agree, the best way to find out if you're going to be accepted is to just go ahead and do it.

I submit articles to them quite often, and so far fortunately have not been declined. But I do know that if your article is declined they will advise you how to fix it so you can resubmit.

Ezinearticles does require that you submit original material written by you.

Marketing Talk / Re: Marketing methods that get results
« on: November 22, 2008, 01:19:58 PM »
I agree with what's already been said.

While we (the collective we) can set out a list of "marketing to dos", it will really only be a general idea of the steps to take.

So much depends upon your product or service, the demographic you reach/hope to reach, perhaps the area they live in, etc.

Marketing isn't just a "one size fits all".

Also has already been said, we also want to keep track of what works and what hasn't worked.

The main thing is to not give up. If one thing doesn't work, try something else.

And if someone has been doing something for years and years and it's been working, maybe it's better to leave things well enough alone.

On the other hand, it's important to keep evolving, too, and trying to find new ways to do things.

Thanks  for the information Stew.

I never checked this out yet.   :-[ :-[ :-[

Best

Jim

I echo what Stew said.  Thanks for the information about the videos in the Online U.

And I'll a W-O-W!  What a tremendous opportunity for the Gold member.

Also, I use NVU (free software) www.nvu.com to edit my web site. And I use NotePad for some things.  I know the basics of html.

I use WordPress, too, but am not as versed with it as I am with NVU or NotePad.

Marketing Talk / Re: Offline Marketing Help
« on: November 22, 2008, 12:46:19 PM »
Since I'm about a month late in here to be answering your query, Jim, I find I don't really have anything to add that hasn't already been said.

That Mark is so full of information, he said everything I would have.  Thanks loads, Mark. ;D  You are such a help and I appreciate it.

The other comments that have been posted are things I've also used.

Now, is it next year yet so we can see the results of the project?

And thank you for posing the question, Jim.

So, I too say keep it.

Thanks for asking for our input.

Hey Guys,  ;D

"Hey Guys" doesn't bother me. In fact, Mark, it didn't register with me that you had said "Hey Guys" until you pointed it out. However, I would guess there would be someone some place who would be offended by it.

In fact, several years ago I knew someone who used it often and it bugged me tremendously...but, because of the person who said it. Not because that was the salutation that was used.  Yeah, I know that's grown up thinking.  ;D

So you just go on and "Hey Guys" us whenever you want, Mark, and I'll pay attention.

Marketing Talk / Re: Post your Success Story Here!
« on: November 21, 2008, 09:53:44 AM »
Hi Guys,

Jim just made a very good point:

The number one reason why 95% fail online is that they want immediate success & riches -- and then when it doesn't happen, they quit.  I personally have been working online since '99, and there have been several times that I was ready to quit. However, I stuck it out and have been making a fulltime income online since '04 ... and I love what I do!

You have to be willing to do the work though! The truth is that an online business is very, very similar to an offline brick & mortar business:

It takes time
It takes effort
It takes planning
It takes dedication

And you have to treat it like a business -- not a hobby! Don't get me wrong -- there is a lot of money to be made online! The sky really is the limit, but you have to be willing to do the work. I get really annoyed at some of the ads & commercials that I see:

"Work at home in your underwear 10 hours a week and make $10,000 per month!!!!"

My question is, "Well buddy, if you are already making $10,000 per month then why are you trying to sell me your $297 program?"

DO NOT fall into the trap that most people do by buying the latest/greatest online course by some so-called guru. The truth is that most of the information you need to succeed online is already available for free.

Check out the detail reports section of this forum. Take advantage of the 300 tutorials in the Gold Members Online University. Be sure to visit the various online marketing forums such as the Warrior Forum (http://warriorforum.com). A lot of good information is freely shared in forums.

Anyway, sorry about that -- I got a little sidetracked!  I just want to encourage everyone here, keep at it and don't give up! If you keep at it you WILL be successful!

I can't release names (obviously) because of confidentiality reasons, but I can tell you that there are several Gold Members who are doing very, very well! Very well!

Here's a quick tip: when you are browsing through the many downloads in the Gold Members area, start thinking to yourself: "How can I use this product to further my business?"

Here an idea for those not knowing where to start:

Start with a niche that you enjoy ... let's say you enjoy crafts. Browse through the Gold Members area and find a crafts related product that has PLR. Take that product and divide it up into articles. Do a quick rewrite on those articles and upload those article to your site/blog as content. (Or just use one of the 31 monthly niche websites!)

Find another crafts related product that has rights that allow you to give it away. Now, use that product as "opt in bait" on your website or blog. ("Enter your name and email below for our free special guide on how to ...")

Now find another crafts related product in RRW that has PLR. Take that product and do a quick rewrite -- rename it, add to it, put some of your personality in it, & pay someone to make you a new ecover. Maybe add a video or audio. Now this is going to be your main product on your site. Not only will each article/page on your site be pointing towards the salepage for this product, but you will also be able to email your list (from freebie optin) promos for this product.

Now find another crafts related product in RRW that has PLR -- divide it up into articles, and do a decent rewrite on those articles (make about 500 words). Now submit those articles to the various article directories (like http://ezinearticles.com/). In your resource box for those articles be sure to have something along the line of " ... click here for a free special report on how to ..."  And of course that will point back to your site where your optin box for your freebie is.

I hope all that babbling makes sense ... it's lunchtime and my mind is thinking about food!

Later guys,
Mark

Well, Mark. If you said all that on an empty stomach, I'm wondering what you'd say when you're full!  ;D

Thank you for taking the time to set all this out for us, Mark. It's a little easier for me to understand when I can see the steps.

I also appreciate the comments the others have included.

Man, it looks like I should have come in here sooner!

Thank you everyone for your great suggestions. In fact, some of the ideas I was going to suggest have already been spoken for...that Jim is just full of great ideas.  ;D  As are the rest of you.

I will add, though, that if you put out an ezine/newsletter, you could include a link to your Web site in it. Because even though people on your list are there because they've already found you...those ezines do get passed around. So sooner or later someone who doesn't know about you will find you through it.

And if you don't yet have an ezine/newsletter, this might be an incentive for you to do so.

Another thing is to be consistent with whatever you do. Sometimes if we do something 2 or 3 times and don't get the results we hoped for, we might be inclined to stop.  That's a no no.  By being consistent and persistent, sooner or later we ought to get the results we hope for.

Here Here Jason.

You are dead right about RRW and Mark (the owner, not me  ;D )

Mark

At the risk of being redundant, I agree with Jason and "the other Mark".  ;D

Mark, the owner ;D, goes above and beyond with his product and his service. He's easily accessible, whether you have issues or just general questions, and he's obviously invested a lot of time into making the Forum and the membership the place where you want to be.
