Good post, thanks for putting it up, a alot of great information! I agree with most everything. Not that I am expert on WSO's, far from it.
The one point that could use a little tweaking is the price point. I agree about how the low price point to get people on your list and if your not "known". One other thing on that though, many use a low entry price and upsell during the sales process (such as an OTO) or upsells built into the products, to end up making much more in the long run. Just my thought :)
I've only done 3 WSO's.
The first one, well it was my first one. Kind of a hodge-podge, stuff I threw together. I did cover my cost and made like $25, so not really a loss. More importantly, a learning experience.
My second one sold out pretty quick, went real well and I was very happy, plus made a nice profit.
The third one sold about 10 out of 25, so some profit there, can't complain.
Why did the second one do so well? Very focused content on a very hot, high paying health product. I think the second one was too "general" to be high/fast selling. Learned something from all three, so well worth doing.
My only thing with WSO's is they move to fast. You could put your offer up at noon and by 6 it's on the second page already. I think it would really help to post at very optimal times/days. Buyers do search and go past page 1, but you sure don't get as many sales.
Like I said, no expert here, just my thoughts and experience.
