Just think of how many people in this world tread off to work each day to do a job they don't necessarily like. Is this your situation? If you have a day job and are struggling to make a go of an online business, probably so.
It puts food on the table yes, but when work is work, it's very hard indeed to put your best foot forward. Time crawls by, and by the time you get home to work on your business it's likely that the motivation and energy you need are lacking. That makes it even more difficult to achieve true success.
It seems like a catch 22 in a way. You need your job to pay the bills until the business takes off, but you seem to be spinning your wheels because there's almost nothing left to put into it. Panic sets in and the joy goes out the window.
How to solve this dilemma?
Here are a few pointers which may help you lighten the load and increase your chance for success:
1. Assess your current lifestyle. Are there some amenities you could do without?
* If you have cable television access, can you do without it? By canceling your subscription you'll not only
save money, but have more time available to really focus on getting out of a rut.
* Do you eat out often? Perhaps you could cut down to once or twice a month. You'll save of course, but
you'll also enjoy it much more when you treat yourself less often.
* Do you have a few non-necessities lying around the house that you could live without? If so, perhaps you
could liquidate at least some of them to either invest in your business or pay off some bills that are
creating undo pressure in your life.
* In more dire situations, you may even need to give up some things that you really like. Just tell yourself
that once you've begun to succeed online that you'll eventually have it again. This is a great motivator to
keep going and putting forth the best effort you possibly can.
2. It may seem ironic but if you're tired much of the time, maybe some extra exercise is in order. A brisk walk
three or four times a week can work wonders. You'll begin to feel the benefits in just a couple of weeks.
3. Assess your diet. Have you been eating properly? Or, are you the grab and go type that always seems to be
running behind and trying to make up for it by exchanging healthy meals for quick snacks? When you give
your body what it needs it will reward you with better mental focus and and a higher level of energy, even
after a hard-day's work.
If you find that you worry a lot, perhaps it might help to just pour out your heart to a close and trusted friend. Sometimes you may need practical help, but often-times just putting your feelings into words and getting the things that are bothering you off your chest can go a long way toward easing your burdens.
Don't be afraid to seek out another position if the one you're in isn't bringing you the satisfaction you deserve. You may even be able to find a position that's right in line with what you've been wanting to accomplish all along. There's no doubt that your clock-watching days will be over should you be fortunate enough to find such a job.
When you're spending your valuable time doing what you truly enjoy, then you'll be able to finally have some peace of mind, even that ever-so-elusive happiness that few people manage to find.
I hope you've enjoyed this article and found one or two points that may help you along!
