Wordpress Websites Login
« on: September 05, 2011, 01:41:26 PM »
There are times when I forget the Admin Login to get into the Wordpress Dashboard.  How do you normally find the login information is?  What wp- file in the CPanel would the login located?

Would appreciate if somebody can help me in this.

Thanks

As Henley said, the login info is in the WP-users table in your database.
I have even manually reset the password w/in the database (it is stored as the MD5 of what you type), but I'd guess you'll be fine once you find the login and tell WP to reset your password.

Good luck!

Belated Thank You.

I have been so busy researching domain names that I forgot to visit the forum.  If you have a domain name that you think you can flip let me research for you - including domain availability - US and other countries.

In wp you can say you forgot password and if you have the email address you used to create user then it will be emailed to you.

Wordpress is one great piece of software. It have so much versatility in logging in and recovering password and many other things. The software is getting better and better every day. The Plugs-in really make it a super piece of software

Glad I am not the only one who has had this problem lol!
I have to say, ROBOFORM has saved the day for me many times, and I can not recommend it enough!! It saves info, generates passwords, and I can create identity's that it will automatically fill in (if I am, say, posting on forums)
Before I bought it, I had one or two passwords, but after buying it, now I have secure passwords for all my sites and the sites that I visit.

I have an email account just for this purpose, although I mostly use CPanel to install WP.

At the last step there is an option to send installation details to an email address.

The process is also easier if you have a different username for each WP installation. (not Admin or admin)
