Yes it is pain if you don't know the basics of PHP,
One method is change extension as .htm or html in your computer and use wysiwyg html editor
but there is always danger to corrupt PHP file if you do not know how to do it (that is if you are not familiar with the code itself to make manual corrections)
Just only html parts of the PHP can be edited with wysiwyg editors, PHP itself must edit manually with notepad or with PHP editor software.
