Imbedding My Amazon ID into Link
« on: March 08, 2011, 10:19:15 PM »
I'm on a roll setting up my adsense website.  I am writing articles featuring Amazon high ticket items.  I want to place a link to Amazon with my Amazon Affiliate ID at end of the article.  I can't figure out how I'm supposed to do this.

Can anybody give me some guidance on how to do this please?

Ed Guerena

UPDATE:  I looked around Google for some information and found this website:  http://www.ashout.com/get-affiliate-link-from-amazon-associate-with-our-associate-id/

It gives some thorough instructions on imbedding Amazon Affiliate links.

Hi Ed,

Amazon has some great tools to help you set up your links, but
here's an over view of adding a basic text link for a specific product.

For example: you've written a review about "The Millionaire Messenger: Make a Difference and a Fortune Sharing Your Advice"
and want to provide the link to that book's page with your affiliate ID included.

Look up the product in the catalog and make note of the information (which appears in green here) in the url that appears in your browser's address bar.

You would add that to the standard link structure, adding in your Tracking ID (which is in red)...

Quote
<a href="http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1600379389?ie=UTF8&tag=yourtrackingid-20&linkCode=as2&camp=1789&creative=9325&creativeASIN=1600379389">The Millionaire Messenger: Make a Difference and a Fortune Sharing Your Advice</a><img src="http://www.assoc-amazon.com/e/ir?t=yourtrackingid-20&l=as2&o=1&a=1600379389" width="1" height="1" border="0" alt="" style="border:none !important; margin:0px !important;" />

Note: Because the forum converts to BB code & the highlighting I've provided won't show up in code mode, the tag [/url] would in practical usage be
Code: [Select]
</a>
You can also create links with the product image, widgets, even store fronts.
Check out the Associate's area--lots of useful tools in there!  :::tu

Thanks for the "show and tell" instructions, Karen :::tu

I sometimes forget how to put the Amazon ID into a link, too.
