Forum Angels?
« on: May 09, 2011, 03:55:44 PM »
Hi Gang

I've been a member here for longer than I care to remember and I have been repeatedly struck by just how darned helpful members were to me when I first joined and how helpful we all continue to be day in and day out.

What I would like to propose is for each member (if you want - no demands) to become a 'forum angel' for newbies or pros. alike.

Do you have a special skill / talent that you would freely give of to people you've never met?
Are you:
A Wordpress Whiz?
An HTML Hero?
A Critique Conqueror?
A Grammar Gallant?
A Graphics God?
A Site Design Saint
A Marketing Maven?

What skill could you bring to the table - please add your entry below this post if (and only if) you are prepared for members to contact you by PM only on their particular problem

I thank you and I'm sure those that you help will thank you.

Cheers

Val

I ain't no Angel, but the door's always open here ;)

I can't really say I qualify as an expert in any those areas,
but what do know is cheerfully shared if asked.

Hi Val,

I can't seem to convince anyone who knows me that there is anything angelic about me,
but I always try to do whatever I can to help others.

Rather than try and suggest that I am an 'expert'  in any area, I do enjoy reading  quite a bit
and my kids never enjoyed my 'proofing' their homework etc. so maybe that counts for something

Have a good one...

John

I'd be happy to contribute a little something where I can. Mostly likely in these areas:

Wordpress (installation, customization and monetization)
Graphics (design and production for print and web)

Shoot me an email or PM and I'll answer as quickly as I can, but remember, I run a full-tiime graphics and publishing business and sometimes just have to ignore the pleasure of the forum for the realities of deadlines and ornery clients.

I'd be glad to help when I can ... Like Gary I do want to let everyone know that sometimes projects take me away from the forum.

I can help with ...

... Customize WordPress: Themes and plugins
... Website (WP or Not) Automation
... Newsletter/Autoresponder Systems
... Membership Sites (WP or Not)
... Product Purchase/Delivery
... Customize Perl, PHP & Java Scripts/Coding

I am making one assumption ... Offering tips and/or "put me on track" advice is what Dom is referring to. If you actually want this type of work done for you there would be appropriate fees involved. Correct me if I'm mistaken about the intent.

Nope, that's my intention Mike. If anyone actually needs 'work' done then paying for it is only natural.

It's a valid point dear visitors - don't abuse these wonderful people - they'll point you in the right way but it is up to you to travel in that direction and, if you want them to hold your hand all the way then it's only polite to pay for that privilege.

I'm game to help out.

Wordpress customization (themes, page templates, plugins, other custom coding), Site structure,
Copywriting (communicating win-win-win offers to targeted prospects), Ethical bribes for squeeze pages,
Self-help/mindset/motivation, Business plans, etc...

Thanks for starting the thread Dom!

Hi,

Well, I'm not an expert at anything, but I usually can find the "oops" in HTML and PHP. I can also do proofreading.

I don't treat myself as an expert, but I'm sure there will be something I could help with even if it was pointing them to another member for advice.
